5 Reasons you might not want to move to Rochester MN
5 Reasons you might not want to move to Rochester MN
- Cold weather / Winter: Rochester, Minnesota is known for its harsh and long winters, with temperatures frequently dropping below zero and heavy snowfall. If you're not a fan of extreme cold and snow, Rochester might not be the best place for you.
- Lack of public transportation: While there is a bus system in Rochester, it is not as comprehensive as those in larger cities. This can make it difficult for those without a car to get around and access certain parts of the city.
- Limited nightlife: Rochester's nightlife scene is relatively small and quiet, with fewer bars and clubs compared to larger cities. If you're looking for vibrant and lively nightlife, Rochester might not be the best choice.
- Lack of professional Sports Teams: While Rochester has a minor league hockey team ( The Grizzlies ), it does not have any professional sports teams. If you're a fan of professional sports, you might miss out on being able to attend games in Rochester.
- Commute times to some of the bigger events: ( Vikings, Twins, Timberwolves, and Wild games ) Rochester is located in southern Minnesota, and while it is close to Minneapolis, the commute to the larger city can be around an hour's drive. If you work in Minneapolis or are looking to live closer to the city, Rochester might not be the most convenient location
Schwirtz Team Reviews
Jared was amazing.
Jared was amazing. We had all the latest listings, he was prompt on response times to all our questions, really focused on our wants and needs for our family and budget. We really made this guy work. He was honest, reliable, flexible, and even met after hours. He never tried to push a sell. He literally wanted the best for our family. We are so lucky to have found such a devoted, well respected, motivational, realtor. We will be coming back when we buy our home in the country.
When we matched here, he helped us seamlessly buy our home while I was still living 15 hours away.
I would whole heartedly recommend Justin Schwirtz to anyone moving to Rochester. I contacted Justin when my husband interviewed at the Mayo Clinic, and he helped me understand the market in Rochester and gave me a tour of the city and some current listings. When we matched here, he helped us seamlessly buy our home while I was still living 15 hours away.
First we traded emails with Justin to focus on our family's needs and wants, then eventually nailed down listings in the area we liked. I was able to fly into town for a short 24 hour trip, and Justin scheduled 8 showings for me in one afternoon! By 6 pm the same day Justin helped us write up an offer that was accepted in less than 12 hours. He helped us navigate the rest of he buying process (including inspection and contract negotiations) while we were still living out of state. All of his took place in the very short timeline I had given him: the entire process took less than 2 months.
The day of closing, we had two kids under 3 in tow, and Justin was amazing with them. In short, he made the colossal task of buying a house from across the country go quickly and smoothly. We were so grateful we found him!
I would recommend Justin for any residential purchase in Rochester.
Prior to choosing a Real Estate agent, I called a few, including Justin. Comparatively, Justin seemed more open to answering any questions I had, even if they sounded a bit basic or fundamental to myself. He attempted to explain as opposed to the other two I spoke with; the other two seemed to lean towards the "just trust me" attitude.
We were not from Minnesota. Therefore, we needed a bit more from an agent than others might. For example, Justin showed us houses over a whole weekend to accommodate our busy schedule.
I would recommend Justin for any residential purchase in Rochester.
